About Us

Sharing food and wine is the oldest form of community. The age-old ritual of “Breaking Bread” has developed into a new meaning that affirms trust, comfort, and confidence with an individual or group. Breaking Bread is an ice breaker and an instant way for people to bond with common interests. MIz En Place takes the concept of Breaking Bread to a global community.
 
Our mission is to bring foodies an experience of the culinary world through, content creation, artisan food, boutique wineries and the unique experiences found in restaurants and travel.
 
It’s a place where foodies can find what ever they like whether you want interesting restaurant recommendations, boutique wines in Malibu, an artisan cheese maker in central california or an intimate culinary tour of Tuscany it’s all here.
 
Our philosophy is to offer great content, great products, outstanding service and a warm engaging experience for food and wine lovers everywhere. We are very much into creating community with our customers and giving back to help others grow and prosper. Miz En Place is about offering a unique, quality experience that has been curated by our team. Trust of taste is what we offer. If it’s on our site, you can trust that it’s good.
 
Our founders -

Rico Mandel - For over 25 years, has been the owner of The Rico Group: a marketing and photography company, specializing in creating websites, photography, promotional videos, and collateral materials for corporate and hospitality clients such as Hilton and Loews. He is the founder of Culinary Image Adventures: combining cooking instruction, luxury wine tours, and one-of-a-kind culinary experiences. Since 2004, after earning a degree in the Cordon Bleu program at the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, California Rico has worked at Saddle Peak Lodge-- a Michelin Star restaurant-- and has had the privilege of working with a variety of chefs. He has also performed as Guest Chef at restaurants such as Burgundy Creek and Fabs Corner Cucina. Recently, he has melded his food and photography passions to create a series of images titled, “Behind the Door – Chefs: their food and their kitchens.” In addition, he creates a blog that examines the culinary world by exploring the ingredients and the artisans who passionately grow, raise and cook what we eat.
