If you want to uplevel your sardine experience try these Ramón Peña sardines in a slightly spicy oil. They use piri-piri peppers to add a bit of a kick to the taste. Ramón Peña selects the best small sardines from the Galician Rias at the port in July and August, when they are the best. The sardines are delicately hand processed to provide the maximum respect to the fish. The sardines have a delicate textural mouth feel resulting from the care in handling and packaging by hand, one by one. They are lightly grilled and then toasted and preserved in olive oil and salt. Try them first on their own as we always recommend then start experimenting what to put them on. Old standbys are crostini or pilot crackers, but try them with some warm fingerling potatoes and parsley.
