Description
This knife block is a handy tool that is essential for any busy kitchen. The 20-piece wood block has an amazing light brown color and various ports that hold multiple differently sized knives as well as useful kitchen tools such as shears and a honing tool. It includes two separable pieces, each of which has a straight stainless metal edge screwed into place to prevent the knives from sitting on the wooden surface.
Its top horizontal edge has wide ports that hold the knives vertically to enable easy placement and removal. The slanted edge has a see-through partition that displays the blades of the knives, thus enabling the cook to pick the right knife for each job. A wide vertical edge supports the slanted holding piece and enables the block to sit squarely on the kitchen counter’s flat surface with reduced possibility of slipping.
The separable pieces are convenient and can be used together in the kitchen to hold multiple knives when prepping meals while the smaller piece that holds multiple steak knives can be used separately to hold extra knives on the dining table when one is serving the food.
A polished wooden exterior enables effortless cleaning. In fact, you just need to wipe it with a damp cloth. Genuine wooden blocks, such as this one, should never be cleaned in the dishwasher or sink because submersion in water leads to it soaking up water and swelling.
Care for the block should be observed by ensuring that knives and other kitchen tools are thoroughly cleaned to get rid of food leftovers before they are stored in the block. Moreover, be sure to wipe the utensils dry before placing them in the block to prevent water from getting inside the ports.
