Wine tasting and Must Cookie Baking, a unique combination! This experience is specially designed so that you can enjoy a holistic approach of the grape and its products. And what better way to spend the day than taking an exciting getaway to one of Attica’s best wineries? Many may not know that Athens is surrounded by small historical vineyards that are dotted around the city’s landscape, which you can even see from your airplane window while approaching Athens  Airport. Today, Attica is the largest wine region in Greece and many of the wineries can be reached within a 40-minute drive from the center of Athens.

The Mesogaia region where our experience will take place hosts a wide range of indigenous and international varieties thanks to its climate and soil. Savatiano is the heart of the vineyard of Attica,  and it is the variety that has been identified with the oldest and most traditional wine worldwide, retsina (resinated wine).

During this experience, you will have the chance to learn about the unique history of winemaking in Greece and taste five to six regional varieties at a well-known vineyard that we will be visiting.   To complete your experience we have included a Must Cookie baking experience! A perfect family-friendly experience too!

The experience at a glance

• This unique experience will start by picking you up from your hotel
•  Once arriving at  the winery you will gaze the large wooden door at the front of the caste-like stone structure.
• Visit the vineyard close by and  explore the Savatiano variety. During harvest season you cal also  pick up some grapes and make fresh grape juice.
• Learn more about the wine culture of th eregion by visiting a unique wine museum inside the winery’s premices.
• Learn how tobake the famous Must Cookies and  while waiting, taste 5-6 wine varieties paired with local products.
